Catching up. Again.

Jeez, I've done it again. Missed an update & now have absolutely no idea of what happened last week. Oh well, this kick off with what I remember (ie, last week!)

Last week was unusual as I spent 4 days at Bondi Junction participating in Fitness First's induction program -

Monday: rest

Tuesday to Thursday (inclusive) each had roughly 2 hours of playing in the gym as part of the practical component of the induction program. It wasn't all what I would consider "exercise" but there was some exercise & otherwise a lot of moving around. Finished each day with my physio-ordered exercises & foam rolling in the gym.

I was lucky enough to stay with Lulu & Mr Lulu at Bronte on Tuesday & Wednesday night (which saved me about 8 hours of commuting!). So Wednesday morning I enjoyed a lovely 70mins walk around Bronte including about 8 laps of the beach on the soft sand.

And then Thursday I went with Lulu to the gym. While she did kettlebell training, I did all my physio-ordered exercises & lots of foam rolling, in an effort to straighten out my body after the practical components of induction.

Friday morning I met Fliss at Knapsack again for our weekly bush & stair interval session (about 75mins this week).

And then yesterday (Sunday), I walked 10km in about 90mins. This was a test for the hip as I haven't walked more than about 5km in the last 2 weeks. The hip pulled up well so things are looing up for Coastrek which is now only less than 6 weeks away :0

(Forever) onwards & upwards :)

Catching up

It looks like Blogger has managed to lose my last blog update or two. Argh. I have absolutely no recognition of what I did (other than a *long* 31km walk with Lulu & Sammy in which I got blisters. Let's get back on track with this week just gone -

Monday: I met Lulu, Sammy & Zoe near Manly for the drive to Palm Beach. The intention was then to walk back to Manly along the Coastrek course. But we pulled the pin at Narrabeen after almost 5 hours of walking as Lulu was having a foot problem. So the girls dropped me at Manly (where my car was) and they headed home. So I decided to go out by myself and do an additional 2 hours (as our original intention had been for an 8 hour walk). So I walked back to the car in Fairlight via Shelly Beach & North Head. 31.7kms in total

Tuesday: rest day including a visit to the physio for a bit of a tune-up. A few niggles have been creeping in over recent weeks.

Wednesday: interval bike session for 40mins (15.7km)

Thursday: quick strength session in the garage consisting largely of physio exercises.

Friday: I met Fliss at 6.30am for an hour walk around Knapsack gorge including 5 lactate-inducing hill reps. 3.5km

Saturday: a rest day - if you can call "rest" being up before 6am to drive for 50mins to Lawson to help out at the Dirty Tri for a couple of hours before driving home, then a quick shower + coffee before heading down to the local aquatic centre (where I had hired one of the rooms) to shoot videos for 3 hours for my new online program :) Exhausted by the time I got home.

Sunday: had planned to do a 4 hour (flat/fast) walk around Penrith but after an hour, I had to call R to come & pick me up as my hip (which played up last weekend) was showing signs of playing up again. With a 10 hour walk scheduled for next weekend (!), I need to get it back on track asap. Finished with an hour of stretching & foam rolling. Physio exercises later today as well. (6.5km)

T'was 8 weeks on Friday until Coastrek. Farrrkkkk.
