Splitting cats

When I did my first session with my PT only 3 months ago, one of the first things he had me do was a superset of 20 x lunges + bicep curl immediately followed by 20 x split jumps. I sucked. I really struggled to get through the split jumps in particular. He then set me the short term goal of doing that superset 3 times in a row. Today, I did it :-) I actually did a 4th superset after a short brick just because I could :-)

5mins bike w/u

- 3 (count 'em, 3) supersets of:
(a) 20 x lunges + bicep curl (4kg d/bs)
(b) 20 x split jumps

- 10min ride/5mins run brick

- superset of:
(a) 20 x lunges + bicep curl (4kg db)
(b) 20 x split jumps

- 10mins ride/5mins run brick (with the last 60sec of the run at 6m/k pace - ie faster than normal for me!)

- stretching.

The fact that there several Perth Wildcats basketball players standing nearby when I do was doing the 3 supersets had nothing to do with the fact that I managed to do push through the pain & do them. Nothing I say ;-)

Unfortunately it was only during the last run that I suddenly realised (remembered) that this was supposed to be a recovery week. Opps. Sorry TA (*she blushes*). Still, it's nice to be feeling so strong at the end of a 3 week block of training. Last time I think I just about crawled into my recovery week. Promise to behave for the rest of the week!

Great work! i love that you did the brick afterward, "just because you can".

Dang, girl! I'm getting tired just thinking about that workout set. Fab job on the breakthrough.

"Just because you can"... I love it!

Stay tuned...

Watch out. I've heard that TA has an angry streak.

Go the fast twitch!

Great job! I have added lunges to my workouts...but the split jumps just seem painful! Old knees just won't take the punishment...

You make me want to try them though! Maybe. Kinda. :-)
