It's been another crazy week - aren't they all? I'm a person who loves routine so balancing 2 businesses & changes to plans made every couple of hours, I'm finding it a challenge to get work done in between client training sessions & visits to the gym etc. Oh well.
I have eased myself back into training this week - yah me - and managed to resist the urge to go all out & train every day (after having not done so in 16 months!). Only 3 sessions this week with plans to add an extra session each week over the next few weeks. I'm in no rush; it took me a long time to get out of shape; it will take a while to get back into it. It is really my eating that has been out of control in recent months so my goal for the week was only to cut the crap/junk food out (without worrying about other changes like serving sizes etc). Little steps :)
Monday: no exercise but I weighed it. Nasty. Let's just say that the weight loss goal is 5.1kgs.
Tuesday: despite the fact that I didn't need to be into the gym until late afternoon, I was awake early so I headed for the garage for a 40min session on the windtrainer in the garage which included 10 x 1min efforts in my hardest gear. I didn't push the effort level too much; I'm acutely aware of the fact that it's really been 18 months since my last 'tri' training block so I'm allowing the next 4 weeks to ease back into it.
Friday: 60mins walk & stair repeats (3) with Fliss in Knapsack George. This was a semi-regular event prior to the 100km. But the last time we did it is almost 2 month ago & we certainly both noticed the lack of training recently :o
Sunday: another windtrainer session this morning. A repeat of Tuesday's 40mins session including 10 x 1 min 'hard' efforts. 'Hard' of course is a relative term; I haven't really been pushing the effort level too much in the efforts given the lack of training in recent months. Easing the old body back into the routine again. 16km
A good week :)
