My memory that is.
I actually have no recollection of what training I did earlier this week.
Of course, the fact that I didn't do any may also be to blame ;)
I can however remember the last 48 hours! Last night, we headed up to Katoomba for dinner with friends & then went onto Mt Victoria to attend the Reel Rock Film Tour
which was fabulous! The night showed 6 short films about dudes (and one a-m-a-z-i-n-g 9 year old girl!) having crazy adventures in the mountains. It certainly reminded me of my desire (or perhaps need is a more accurate word) to get back into the mountains - the sooner, the better.
After about 5 hours sleep, I got up today in time to travel to Bronte to meet Sammy & Lulu so that we (3/4 of Team Sparta) could kick off our training for our next big adventure. It was 19 weeks on Friday until Coastrek & given that most of us have done little since the Trek for Timor 50km 4 weeks ago, it was nice to ease into it. As Coastrek includes quite a bit of soft sand walking, we headed to Coogee for about 50mins of soft sand walking (3.7km) up & down the beach followed by 10-15mins of walking the surrounding hills. Finished our session by standing for about 5-10mins knee-dip in the rather cold ocean. Perfect way to start, and end, our first training session.
Time to slowly but surely ramp it up again. 100km is calling :)
