Monday morning's swim was the usual 1.2km. I've been doing the same swim over the last few weeks as I develop some form of swim fitness. This set includes 9 x 25m fast which are gradually getting faster each week so it's been a great way to gauge my fitness improvements. Time to change it up next week :)
Tuesday saw me meet a friend at 8am at the gates to the Glenbrook National Park for a walk & some stair repeats. 1hr 40min and 7.1km later (including 3 x fast stair repeats), we headed for a local cafe for the obligatory post-walk coffee. Beautiful way to start a day!
And then today was another l-o-n-g walk this time from Bilgola (just south of Avalon) all the way down to Queenscliff on the Coastrek course with my team mates Lulu, Sammy & Zoe. A hot hilly & sandy route to say the least! It can best be described as -
up-up-up-up a headland,
down-down-down-down a headland,
sand-sand-sand-sand-sand across a beach.
sand-sand-sand-sand-sand across a beach.
And repeat.
Multiple times :0
Throw in lots of concrete paths & it was hard on legs more used to spending time on trails. In total it was 23.6km in 4hr 53mins. I have *lots* of work to do in the next 12 weeks & 5 days!
