After a siesta on Saturday afternoon & loads of water, I was ready to head out for my run. It was still 29*C when I left the house about 6pm. Came home about 50mins one very happy chicky. I stuck to the flat loop near home (walking two short hills) & was really pleased to have almost no complaints from my piriformis. Yippee! Finished with 8.02k in 50:24mins (aver 6:15min/k). I've got alot of work to do over the next 3 weeks but this run gave me a big confidence boost :-)
Arrived home, filled up my water bottle & jumped on the mag trainer to round about the afternoon. 40mins & several stages of the 2005 TdF later I just about crawled off Apollo. This was a real struggle actually - my legs felt like lead. Still, I finished the day a very chicky with a total of 1hr 30min run/bike combo.
Sunday morning and a sleep-in was needed so it was after 9am by the time I got to the M7. The plan for the day was 60k or 3 hours with Apollo on the M7 bike path. During the first 30mins I was wondering how on earth I was going to make it to 2 hours, let alone 3. I was regretting the fact that I'd done my sessions so close together - my legs felt dead & I had absolutely no energy. But I started to think about Six Foot - nothing like terror to get the adrenaline - and legs - moving ;-)
3:15 & 62km later (my longest ride ever!), I got back to the car one happy, tired & rather sunburnt (stoopid) girl :-)

After some food, a stretch & shower, I had another nana nap! I don't think I've ever had 2 in a weekend before - I'm such an old woman now ;-)
I think I've spent 5hr 50min on Apollo this week. Wonder how long its going to take my butt to forgive me ;-)

The M7 is a great place to ride the bike. There are a few hills, however your picture looks like Pluviometer. I wish it was closer to home.
My best nanna naps have come after I have done my longest ride ever. Biking is hard work!
Good luck for next 20 days!
Impressive workouts Jen, appears you have re-energized and are bolting at the gate!
Banana and maple syrup pancakes...your secret training fuel?
Poor Apollo will need a service after that much distance ;)
Glad to hear the piriformis is almost complaint free. Don't overdo things in the next 2 weeks (not 3! the last week is the taper).
Great run and fantastic rides Jen. You are sounding strong. Hope the next couple of weeks go well for you. Looking good for 6'! xx
"...sensational banana maple syrup pancakes..." - that sounds sooo good! And as its Shrove Tuesday tomorrow what better excuse to make pancakes for breakfast! :-)
Butt and bike - an unnatural relationship. And in my experience it was not a happy relationship!
Some good sessions there Jen...those naps were well earnt. Hope you manage some good quality training in the next week or two...not long now!
hope your week (and butt) is in better shape than last week miss FHG. Good to see apollo is taking care of you so well :)
