My shithouse lower legs (thanks Marty !) & I are off to see Andy the Pod next Tuesday. My shins are still quite tender today after Sunday’s run (particularly surprising given it was on a trail...) so I’ve canned tomorrow’s planned run and will do a spin class instead. Not particularly happy but the blahs at least are lifting (slowly). I think Owl is right – it stems largely from feeling frustrated by my injury problems and feeling like I am watching others make huge progress while I’m still covering the same distances/times that I did earlier in the year – whilst I haven’t made much, if any, progress in the last 4 months, I know that I am a lot stronger both in strength and in cardio-fitness. Now I just have to pull it all together...which will come with time (and patience!) Maybe I need to take my focus off 'the plan' for the year and just focus on getting my body right on a week by week basis...
Weights session in the gym for an hour tonight. Lower body session followed by lots of stretches. Will make tomorrow morning’s spin class interesting...

Hang in there Jen. Dr Wobbly's prescription is chocolate (at least) twice daily and red wine (any time) after lunch.
I think I need wobbly as a personal trainer. Great advice there.
Glad to see some of the blahs are lifting - they can be hard to shake sometimes (I know all about them too). Just don't stop thinking about GC (whatever you decide to do there) because even if you don't race you will have a fantastic time
Me too, Minersrun...I wouldn't mind Wobbly as a personal trainer either! I can skip the chocolatebut easily double up with the red.
Like your description, Jen_runs, of your legs, possibly on this Sunday's long run; it'll bring a smile & there's nothing like smiling to relax the face & body!

This too shall pass....

You're doing so well, Jen :) the blahs can go and blah themselves - we think you're great! Besides, you've got the rest of your life to be running huge distances (if you so choose!)
Really looking forward to meeting you and Owl at the GC :)
