So long, farewell.....

The left shin was a little tender the day after my last run (d'oh). The tendons/ligaments/somethin' in my right ankle were also a little tender. I'm not really surprised since it was my first run on the road in at least 4 weeks so the last couple of days have been spent icing my shin and keeping up my strengthening exercises. It is a consolation I suppose that my ITB has been fine....(touch wood)

I was planning a run today but given the shin/ankle stuff & a cold that won't piss off, I decided instead to go for an easy walk followed by the usual strengthening exercises - with the hope that the ankle and shin will be ok so I am able to go for a run in Tahiti on Monday......hehe

Well I'm off to pack. To whoever reads this, good luck in all that you do over the next few weeks. I'm off to South America for a month or so. Yes, the running gear (including my trusty CR hat are packed). I'm not expecting to do much running while I'm away but I really hope that lots of walking and the occasional run will mean that my fitness levels don't drop too much. I'd hate to come back and find myself back at square one (but being Zen Jen, I'm not contemplating that). I've now got a program and a race plan in place for the rest of the year (thanks to my almost-satanic running guru/adviser) and I am really looking forward to kicking it off. But first, a nice long holiday...
