On Wednesday, I enjoyed a lovely 75 min walk in/around Glenbrook with Fliss at 6am. A very cool morning; 3/4 pants + a t-shirt + a long sleeve top was not quite enough clothing.
We started at the gate & walked down the hill to the causeway to find it closed. There had been constant rain on Tuesday in the mountains apparently and the causeway had about 20 cms of water over the top of it.
So we turned around & walked back up the hill, then down the trail to Jellybean pool, back up the road & then a loop through Glenbrook via a steep bush stair climb.
It was a lovely way to start the morning. I woke feeling exhausted & probably wouldn't have trained but for the fact I had arranged to meet Fliss.
Then today (Sunday) was a long day which, in my current exhausted state, I can only begin to summarise in point form!
- woke at 4.30am & was out the door by 5am for the drive to Bronte to meet Lulu and Sammy for our long walk;
- arrived at Bronte by 6am & started walking from Coogee at 6.30am to walk part of the Coastrek course in reverse starting from Coogee (finish) and back along the course to Sth Head, around to Rushcutters Bay and then up to Edgecliffe & back to home (my second home in Bronte) finishing with 31.8k in 5hr 45mins walking time;
- had a quick bite to eat at Cafe K and then drove home like a crazy woman, had a 20min turnaround and then headed down to watch the PTC race (and another 3+ hours on my feet).
