Back to the pool

Activity: swimming
Time: 6am
Duration: 30mins
Distance: approx. 1km (I lost count a few times)
Mood/energy: blahish
ITB: sore

The plan was to do an easy 30mins session in the pool this morning to test out the lungs given my recent illness. I felt pretty flat and heavy in the water initially and could feel yesterday's session with Satan in my shoulders and chest. In the first 15mins I took it pretty easy, stopping at the end of the lanes on occasion to let swimmers past because I found myself pushing the pace a bit. Upped the pace in the last 10mins to test out my lungs and felt pretty good. However I noticed that my heartrate was elevated when I got home - ie 15mins after the session which was a bit strange. Another easy session on Thursday.

My knee was very sore on the walk home from the pool. Ho hum. Maybe I should just resign myself to the fact it will probably be 2006 before I start running again :-(

Wedding update: we have a tentative date :-)

You gotta hate the ITB hey... bring on 2006, injury free (I hope) year!

It's a horrible feeling when you can't get out and run like your brain wants you to isn't it?

I hpoe you keep enjoying the swimming though - the raised heartrate is something I've noticed when I'm coming off an illness so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about - even if it's for a good half hour afterwards. Look into it if you still feel breathless by the end of the week though :)

Jen, that's really good given how sick you've been lately. Just try and look after yourself now please!

That B&B is a MUST for next year's CC race! Make sure you keep their details!

Don't you worry lovely, 2006 is going to be a great running year for Owl and Pussycat...I can feel it in my bones!

2006 might be a good idea, but a bitter pill, Jen. Your ITB gives me the shits, I can only imagine how much it is giving you the shits.
